Accessible Customer Service Policy

This policy is intended to meet the requirements of Accessibility Standards for Customer Service, Ontario Regulation 429/07 under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, and applies to the provision of goods and services to the public or other third parties, not to the goods themselves.

All goods and services provided by Avant Imaging & Integrated Media ULC shall follow the principles of dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity.

 

Application and Scope

This policy addresses accessibility needs of AIIM Employees and AIIM Clients and Visitors. In addition, creating and maintaining an accessible environment for individuals with disabilities.

 

Scope

This policy governs the provision of goods and services by AIIM Facilities and by AIIM employees to AIIM clients and the general public.

 

Our Commitment

In fulfilling our mission, AIIM is committed to providing excellence in serving all customers and employees including people with disabilities and following the principles of dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity.

 

Use of Service Animals and Support Persons

We are committed to welcoming people with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal on the parts of our premises that are open to the public.
We are committed to welcoming people with disabilities who are accompanied by a support person. Any person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be allowed to enter the area open to the public with that support person.

  

Training for AIIM Staff

AIIM will ensure that all persons to whom this policy applies receives training as required by current legislation. Applicable staff will continue to receive training on any changes to legislation, these policies, practices and procedures.

Training will include the following:

  • Purpose of the applicable law and information on the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act, 2005 and the requirements for the customer service standard
  • How to interact with people with disabilities
  • How to help someone who is having difficulty accessing AIIM’s facility

 

Feedback Process

AIIM strives to meet and surpass customer expectations while serving customers with and without disabilities.
Feedback is welcome and can be made via letter, email or verbally. All feedback will be directed to the AIIM HR Department and Leadership Team.
